The Sacred Temple....the Search Continues

To honor the 'invited spirit', the search continues for the long lost Altan Tobchi temple in northwestern Mongolia. Remembering of course the persecuted monks had traveled via the city of Urga, leaving Ulan Bator (sic) and everything behind.  Although apparently burned to the ground, the remains of the structure should still be intact.  Finding the 'golden button' would result in immeasurable gratitude from the Seng Shih monastery white tiger school, maintaining the sacred connection to the motherland, upholding the honor of the celestial brotherhood.  Perhaps then the completion of the modern 'Shiulin' temple could come to fruition.

While it does appear the project is to create a comprehensive listing of temples all across the old country, of course paramount importance is given to the locating of the temple that provided refuge to the white tiger style and the white priest of world renown.  Still, it's extremely odd that with so many resources dedicated towards such a search, not one shred of evidence (other than anecdotal) of the existence of 'Altan Tobchi'* has been produced to date. Myth anyone?  www.mongoliantemples.org

Other Resources

A comprehensive history of the modern incarnation of the Moh Pai style was previously found at ZENSHACK.NET  (no affiliation with this site, other than being part of the brotherhood of the of the Shiulin Temple (only known to a handful of Masters) , 23rd/24th/25th Generation, Seng Shih Monastery White Tiger School.  Previous 21st succession was held by the mysterious Grand Master Lin Fie Hung and the 22nd succession was entrusted to the evasive Grand Master Li Kwin Yan).   The zenshack site still provides links to various schools and offshoots of Moh/Moo/Mo Pai still active throughout the world today, and its online presence shall be missed.  Much respect goes out to this fallen brother, keeper of the Moh Pai flame.   Check out his new Zen Tiger school.
